This is my husband- Chris, our son- Chris Jr, and myself
in Busch Gardens, VA this past April.
My Husband:
Chris Sr. is my husband and he's 22 years old. He was also born and raised in Baltimore, Maryland. He is currently enlisted in the United States Marine Corps, which is why we are living in Jacksonville. We met in 2004 when I was a freshman and he was a junior in high school. We began dating in October 2008, and I moved in with him in May 2009. We bought our first home in July 2009. I got pregnant with our first child in January 2010. Chris asked me to marry him in February 2010 and planned to get married that May. Then in March 2010 tradgedy hit us hard and I had a miscarriage and we lost our first child. This was rough on us. Everyone said we should postpone the wedding but I couldn't do it. It was the only thing I had to keep my mind off of what had happened. On May 22, 2010 we got married, and a month later found out we were pregnant again and due on February 26, 2011. We were so happy and excited. In June 2010 we also found out that Chris would be leaving us for a deployment to Afghanistan in September 2010. Training started shortly after that and I hardly saw him before he left. We spent close to 4 months apart, and spent our time having Skype dates and me sending him carepackages. I kept myself busy getting ready for our son. A few days before Christmas, we were reunited and he was home for good. We celebrated the holidays in Baltimore, MD. On February 18, 2011 at 0830 I started having contractions while getting ready for a child care class we were heading to. I fell down my steps about an hour later when I was coming down to leave the house. From there my contractions progressivly got worse. We decided to go to the hospital and we found out I was in active labor. And 1805 we welcome Christopher Paul Jr into the world. Weighing 7 lbs 9 ounces and 18.5 inches long. We are now about to start on a new journey of Chris Sr getting out of the military and we are moving back to Baltimore, Maryland.
My Son:
Chris Jr, who goes by Chris or Jr, was born on February 18, 2011 at 1805. 7 lbs 9 ounces, 18.5 inches long. Sadly he was very sick when he was born. When he came out he was having a very difficult time breathing. He had fluid in his lungs which was causing them to not function properly. The doctors ran tests and we learned that he was born with pneumonia. He was admitted to the NICU at Naval Hospital Camp Lejeune, North Carolina. He was placed on a breathing tube in his nose and down his throat. He was also placed on an IV drip constantly and an antibiotic injection once a day. Jr was kept in the NICU for 5 days, and then they released him to a regular hospital room to be with us for 2 days before he was finally released from the hospital. After many prayers and a lot of hard work by all of the doctors and nurses, our son was finally all better and doing amazing. Breathing on his own and eating very well!
Jr is my sunshine, he lights up every day for me. No matter what is going on or how bad of a day I'm having all I have to do is look at him, and I know it will all be ok.
At 4 months old, Jr is a very healthy, growing baby. He can now roll from belly to back, but hasn't fully mastered rolling from back to belly. He loves to eat, and I can hardly wait to let him start trying foods. He loves the song "Head, Shoulders, Knees and Toes" and loves to bounce in his doorway jumper. He also lovess to take naps with his daddy or I. (He's a huge snuggle bug!! I love it!)
